The development of\u00a0the Mont-Tremblant ski resort<\/a>\u00a0caused a veritable whirlwind of real estate activity in the area that rapidly spread to the communities around Mont-Tremblant.<\/p>\n

On the south side of the mountain where the ski resort is located, property values have soared in recent years. For example, the town of Saint-Jovite, now merged with\u00a0Mont-Tremblant<\/a>, saw its property values more than double in only a few years.<\/p>\n

The properties on the north side are in greater demand because they are still affordable.<\/p>\n

With the 2001 opening of the Mont-Tremblant International Airport<\/a>, the area is easier to get to than ever before. Located in La Macaza, barely 35 km from the ski resort, the airport offers direct flights to and from Toronto and a shuttle service to the region\u2019s various lodging options.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

In June 2009, a\u00a0casino<\/a> operated by Loto-Qu\u00e9bec (the provincial lottery corporation) was opened on the southern slope of Mont-Tremblant and linked to the ski resort via gondola lift.<\/p>\n

In an investment context, a parallel could be drawn with the Verbier<\/a> ski resort in Valais, on the south side of the Swiss Alps. Because of the area\u2019s reputation, the few lots still available are priced at more than \u20ac3,000 per m2<\/sup> (figures from November 2017).<\/p>\n

Here in Quebec, the area around the Tremblant resort is also experiencing an uplift in pricing.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \t <\/div>\n\t \n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t
